AWS Summit 2026: reinforcing the era of AI maturity

Last week, several members of the team attended AWS Summit in London, an event that brought together more than 20,000 people under one roof.

As an AWS Premier Tier Partner, we were proud to exhibit at the event, which saw AWS double down on AI alongside reinforcing a deep commitment to its partner community.

But what were the key standout points for us?

Matt Smith, Head of Sales at CirrusHQ shares his thoughts:

“It was clear to see the scale in which AWS is operating is growing all the time – something we reinforce in our daily newsletter, which outlines all the latest features from the organisation.

But at a deeper level, our conversations with everyone who came to the stand centred on one thing: the time for AI experimentation is over.

During the Summit’s opening keynote, VP & MD of UKI at AWS, Alison Kay, shared new AWS research on AI adoption, which highlighted that two-thirds (64 per cent) of UK organisations are now using AI. However, the study found that many businesses are stuck at the most basic stage of adoption, using AI for routine tasks, with only one in five (24 per cent) using it at advanced levels.

From our perspective and conversations with organisations across the education, public sector, and SMB spaces, the figures hold up, and highlight that many could benefit from more support on their journey to further embed it at more advanced levels.

There is no doubt that AI is here to stay, but current macroeconomic and geopolitical conditions might not make it feel like the right time to further invest or commit to the technology.

However, those who seek to pause and wait for the right moment could see themselves being left behind with their competitors increasing market share as a result. The AWS architecture and ecosystem help organisations manage smarter, more cost-effective cloud environments, which are fundamental to AI success. And while some might be clear on how to mature their AI offering and use cases, others could benefit from engaging with a specialist managed services partner to formalise the business case.

We believe in looking to the future and being clear about the achievable steps that an organisation can take to create a solid cloud and AI business case. While there will always be an event in the world that might make it not feel like the right time to take a stake in AI, we can work with organisations to seek out AWS funding to make plans a reality. Rather than become overcome by the overwhelming nature of AI, engaging sooner rather than later will better equip organisations and allow them to advance their AI journey.”

If you need support in getting your cloud ready as you evolve AI in your organisation or would like a more in-depth run down of the event, the team at CirrusHQ is here to help.
